Advanced Navigation: Sidebar Widgets & Expanded Filters
Overview
This guide highlights two new features in the latest Bulletin release: Sidebar Widgets and Expanded Filters. These updates make it easier to view urgent information and customize your Bulletin experience.
Sidebar Widgets
1. Where to Find Them
After logging into Bulletin, you'll now see a sidebar on the right side of your homepage. There’s nothing you need to do—these widgets appear automatically.
2. Widget Breakdown
- High Priority
Shows the three most recent officer safety posts from your department, listed in chronological order. - Recently Viewed
Displays the last three posts you clicked into, so you can quickly revisit them. - Suggested Agencies
Recommends other Bulletin partner agencies you may want to follow, based on proximity and shared activity. - Trending
Features the top three posts from across the Bulletin network.
3. Engage with the Widgets
Click on any post within the sidebar to open it directly from your homepage.
Expanded Filters
1. Filters Available Across More Tabs
Previously, filters were only available under the For You tab. Now, filters can be applied under each tab in the navigation bar to tailor your experience.
2. New Filter Options
You can now filter posts by the following criteria:
- Department
- Incident Type
- Post Type
- Location
- Created By
These options are available across key tabs in the Navigation bar, helping you focus on what matters most to your team.
Tips & Best Practices
- Use the High Priority widget to stay on top of officer safety updates.
- Follow Suggested Agencies to broaden your network and awareness.
- Apply filters like Location or Created By to speed up your workflow.
- Revisit recent activity easily via the Recently Viewed widget.
