BLTN Mobile (iOS) Step by Step Guide

Overview

This guide walks you through using the BLTN Mobile App on iOS.

From enabling notifications to adjusting user preferences and navigating posts, this guide ensures a smooth user experience from your phone.

1. Notifications on iOS

• Enable notifications in the BLTN web version.
• You’ll automatically receive email and mobile push alerts.
• Email notifications will direct to mobile web; push notifications go straight to the app.
• All BLTN users will automatically receive Officer Safety Notifications.

2. User Settings

• Access settings using the bottom-right “User” icon.
• Two main configuration options:

• • Auto-Play
    • Toggle ON/OFF to control whether bulletins play automatically.
  • Feed Preference

• • • Feed: Mirrors web version’s "For You" feed.
    • My Department: Shows only posts from your agency.

3. Navigating the Feed

• Tap the “Feed” icon at the bottom-left to browse posts.
• Tap the expand photo icon to zoom, or rotate for better viewing.
  

4. Contacting Post Creators

• While viewing a post, tap “Reporter” under the post description.
• This action opens your phone’s default email app so you can message the post creator directly.

5. Posts Tab & Nearby Functionality

• Tap the “Posts” icon in the bottom center to view your content.
• Tap the three top-right lines to toggle between:
  • My Department
  • Saved Posts
  • Your Posts (posts you’ve created)
