Upload PDF in BLTN
Overview
BLTN now supports uploading full PDF bulletins directly into the platform. This allows you to quickly convert existing PDFs into editable BLTN posts—saving time and preserving layout and content.
While the PDF content auto-populates the post, users still have the ability to review and edit before publishing.
Steps to Upload a PDF
1. Start a New Post
- Click Create in the top-right corner.
- Select Post.
2. Choose to Upload a PDF
- Instead of manually creating a post, click the Upload PDF button.
- Select the bulletin PDF file from your computer.
- Note: It may take a few seconds for the PDF to fully upload and process.
3. Review the Auto-Filled Post
- The system extracts and inserts the PDF content into the appropriate fields of your post.
- You can review and adjust:
- Post Type & Title
- Description
- Images pulled from the PDF
- LES Classification (Law Enforcement Only, Private Partners, Public)
- Location info
- Headline Media
- Contact Instructions
4. Finalize and Publish
- Make any final edits as needed.
- Add or update any missing fields.
- Choose your sharing preferences.
- Click Post to publish.
Tips & Best Practices
- Always review the content auto-filled from the PDF before posting.
- Use this feature to streamline publishing when working from formatted agency documents.
- You can still manually edit any field to improve clarity or layout.
